Welcome to Catalonia

These photographs were taken in June 2003 while on holiday near Gironella in the Catalan region of Spain.

They give a flavour of the places, buildings and views of the area and include descriptions to provide background to the photographs and captions for each. There is only one picture of people!

Barcelona shows some of the earliest and latest strikingly modern architectural designs of Gaudi, a leading exponent of Modernisme. Barcelona
Montserrat Montserrat shows the religious heart of Catalonia, a place that has been at the centre of Catalonian history. There are also great views from the top of this stunning rock formation with the monastery at the centre.
Catalonia shows an extinct volcano in Olot and the people picture. Catalonia

A quick tour of all the photographs.

I hope you enjoy having a look at them

Katherine
